Diaries: DRIVE TO HATYAI - JUNE 7TH TO 9TH 2002
DRIVE TO HATYAI - JUNE 7TH TO 9TH 2002

Day 1 - 5 cars left from Rawang R&R on Friday, June 7th at 2.30pm and headed northwards. The convoy regrouped at Gurun R&R where another 5 cars from Penang joined the convoy. The convoy of 10 cars comprised of one 168 3.0, two 164 3.0, three164 2.0, three 155 2.0 and one 146Ti. We reached the Bukit Kayu Hitam border at around 7pm and proceeded with the necessary immigration and customs procedures.

We were met with our tour guide, Ekasit at the Thai customs checkpoint and headed for Hatyai. We reached our hotel, the Hatyai Garden Home at around 9.30pm (Thai local time), checked in and had dinner. The program was free and easy after dinner, so shopping, wandering around and the usual traditional massage was the norm for the night.

Day 2 Free & Easy for most part of the day. Ekasit arranged lunch for us in Songkhla, a 30 minute drive from Hatyai. We had lunch at a restaurant by the beach, after which we had a short tour of Songkhla town. After lunch, we headed back to our hotel and wandered around Hatyai town for more shopping. Ekasit arranged dinner at a local restaurant after which it was free and easy program again.

Day 3 Free and easy. The participants checked out by noon and proceeded home at their own leisure.
